Gurmeet Kaur Singh

Co-Chair

Gurmeet Kaur Singh is a Sikh American cultural heritage artist working to strengthen the Sikh youth’s sense of belonging and wellness through the healing power of music. She is a physical therapist by profession. An active member of Make Us Visible CT, she hopes to work with other communities for the common qualities that bring us together.

She moved to the United States at the age of 12, and witnessed the bullying of her younger two brothers because they wore turbans. When she was in 8th grade, she started going to surrounding elementary schools to educate children and educators about her Sikh faith and heritage. This was a very eye-opening experience, and she realized the power of knowledge and educating others about her heritage and religion.
