Why I Would Like to Be Involved:

Throughout my entire school career, I have only once had a teacher with whom I could relate on Asian experiences, and even then, not for a core class. Because of this, I have never truly found myself represented in the classroom, or felt as though my experiences were listened to and understood as best as they could be. This was reflected in both the things I was taught, and who was teaching me. I believe this advisory board is an amazing way to create change within my communities, and ensure that future AAPI students do not have to feel out of place in the classroom in the way that I once did.
