Under the theme “Asia: Past, Present, Future” the BC-NEAAS Conference Committee welcomes proposals for panels, roundtables, or individual presentations that address histories, societies, cultures, languages, literatures, arts, political systems, and economic activities of Asia in regional and global contexts. Panels and roundtables that take an innovative approach to format (interdisciplinary, pedagogical, creative, mixed media) are welcome, as are traditionally organized academic panels. We highly encourage roundtables that address the state of various fields comprising Asian studies. We also welcome posters, new books, and other materials for exhibition. We offer a book-talk roundtable for authors to introduce their new books in Asian Studies published within two years prior to the conference. We also invite publishers in the New England region to address publication issues and exhibit their publications in Asian Studies. The conference warmly welcomes the participation of graduate students; the best student paper will receive an AAS-NEAC Atsuko Hirai Memorial Award.
Proposals are due October 1, 2016. Submit Your Proposal NOW!
