Maxine Smestad-Haines
Maxine Smestad Haines Maxine Haines is a lifelong resident of Connecticut. She attended Greater Hartford and Tunxis Community Colleges, and began her career with the State of Connecticut at the Department of Children and Youth Services. She joined the Asian American Studies Institute in 2001, after working with Cooperative Extension in the School of Agriculture and the Center for Academic Programs before that, at the University of Connecticut. She brings close to 20 years of experience working within the UConn system. And while the students, professors, staff and some buildings have gone, Maxine's enthusiasm and commitment to a job well done remain.
